Rite Foods Calls for Stronger Family Support, Child Welfare on International Day of Families

Rite Foods Limited has called for stronger support systems for families and improved child welfare as the world marks the 2026 International Day of Families.

The company made the call in a statement commemorating this year’s celebration themed, “Families, Inequalities and Child Wellbeing,” stressing the need to address social and economic inequalities affecting children and households.

Managing Director of Rite Foods, Seleem Adegunwa, said families remain the foundation of every society and should be adequately supported to ensure sustainable national development.

“Families are at the heart of every society. When access to nutrition, education, healthcare and opportunity becomes unequal, children are often the most affected,” Adegunwa said.

He added that every child deserves equal opportunities to “grow, thrive and dream bigger regardless of background.”

According to him, the company remains committed to producing quality products that meet the needs of Nigerian families while contributing positively to society through responsible business practices and community-focused initiatives.

Rite Foods produces several consumer brands, including Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, Fearless Energy Drinks, Sosa Fruit Drink, Bigi Premium Table Water, Rite Spicy, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex Sausages.

Also speaking, the company’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, emphasised the need for collaboration among businesses, communities and policymakers in tackling inequality and improving child wellbeing.

“Real progress happens when businesses, communities and policymakers work together,” Eze said, adding that supporting families goes beyond products to creating opportunities for people to succeed.

Rite Foods reiterated its commitment to initiatives that empower families and strengthen communities across the country.
