YABATECH Students Battle for N1m as Bigi, Fearless Storm Campus

Students of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, will today begin a three-day music, dance and entertainment programme featuring talent competitions and live performances as Soundcity OnTour comes to the institution.

The engagement, scheduled for September 15 to 17, is being powered by Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink and Fearless Energy Drink, brands under the stable of Rite Foods Limited.

A major attraction of the programme is the Bigi Music Competition, which will see aspiring student artistes compete in different musical styles for the chance to emerge as the YABATECH campus winner and claim a N1 million prize.

The winner will also have an opportunity to progress to the national stage, according to the organisers.

The programme will also feature the Fearless Dance Challenge, giving students an opportunity to showcase their creativity and dancing skills.

Speaking on the initiative, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the brands were committed to providing platforms through which young Nigerians could express their creativity and discover opportunities.

“Young people are not waiting for culture to happen; they are creating it every day. Through the Bigi and Fearless brands, we want to meet them where that creativity is most visible and give them platforms where they can express themselves, discover their capabilities and connect with opportunities beyond the immediate moment,” Eze said.

The three-day engagement is expected to climax on September 17 with a Soundcity OnTour concert featuring Modola, Tariq, Syemca, Slimcase, Mr. P and Kodee, alongside Duuwa and Rukmani.

The organisers said the YABATECH activation is aimed at providing students with a platform to compete, perform and express themselves through music and dance.

The event forms part of the campus engagement activities of Bigi and Fearless, which seek to connect with young Nigerians through entertainment, talent discovery and creative expression.
