Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has signed three Power Purchase Agreements aimed at strengthening electricity supply to critical public infrastructure across Lagos State.

The signing took place at Lagos House, Marina, where the governor said the agreements are designed to build on existing capacity and address areas where power supply has not been effective.

The agreements involve Fenchurch Power, Mainland Power and Viathan.

Under the arrangement, Fenchurch Power will support major water facilities in Adiyan and Iju, while Mainland Power will continue supplying Ikeja, Oshodi and Anthony, with room for expansion. Viathan will maintain stable power supply to key facilities on Lagos Island, alongside efforts to strengthen integration with the distribution network.

Sanwo-Olu said the agreements have been updated to reflect current market realities, adding that the state will no longer pay for power that is not delivered.

He explained that payments will now be tied strictly to actual metered supply, in a move aimed at improving accountability and reducing wastage.

The governor said the initiative will ensure more reliable electricity supply to public infrastructure, improve resource management, and provide a structured path for scaling power capacity in the coming years.
