Students of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) have an opportunity to win a ₦1 million prize through a music talent hunt organised as part of the Soundcity OnTour programme, which began on the campus on Monday.

The three-day programme, powered by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, will run until Wednesday, October 28, featuring live music, entertainment and auditions aimed at discovering emerging musical talents among students.

This was contained in a statement made available to journalists by the organisers, who said the initiative was part of efforts to bring entertainment closer to students and provide aspiring artistes with platforms to showcase their abilities.

A major highlight of the programme is the Bigi Music auditions, through which aspiring campus musicians will have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents and compete for the ₦1 million prize at participating universities.

The initiative is also expected to give emerging artistes greater visibility and encourage them to develop their musical abilities and pursue careers in the entertainment industry.

Speaking ahead of the UNILORIN edition, Bigi Brand Manager, Biola Aransiola, said young Nigerians needed platforms where they could express their creativity and gain recognition for their talents.

She said, “Young Nigerians are full of creativity, ambition and talent, and we believe they deserve platforms where their voices can be heard.

“Through Soundcity OnTour, we are bringing music closer to students while giving aspiring artistes an opportunity to showcase what they can do. We want students to participate, express themselves and make the most of an experience that combines entertainment with the possibility of taking their talent to the next level.”

The UNILORIN edition follows the tour’s recent visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), as it continues its engagement with students across Nigerian universities.

Fearless Energy Drink is also part of the initiative, which combines music and live entertainment with opportunities for young people to express themselves and participate in activities that reflect campus culture.

The organisers urged students of the university to participate in the programme and take advantage of the auditions to showcase their musical abilities.
