More than 400 households in Majidun, Ikorodu, Lagos State, have received food assistance through a partnership between JMG Limited and the Lagos Food Bank Initiative to ease the burden of hunger and rising household food needs.

The intervention, organised on October 17 as part of activities marking World Food Day, was carried out under the Temporary Food Assistance Programme (TEFAP), with essential food supplies distributed to vulnerable families in the community.

The initiative brought together JMG’s management and staff, volunteers from the Lagos Food Bank Initiative and community representatives in a joint effort to provide immediate relief to families struggling to meet their daily food needs.

Speaking during the outreach, JMG’s Chief Operating Officer, Christian G. Kozma, said the intervention reflected the company’s commitment to supporting women and recognising their contributions to society.

According to him, JMG’s support for women extends beyond its recognition of their contributions within the organisation to initiatives aimed at improving their welfare and advancement in society.

The company’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, said addressing hunger required collective responsibility, urging individuals, businesses and communities to contribute towards reducing food insecurity.

She said the company considered it a privilege to support families in need, stressing that concerted efforts could provide relief and create better opportunities for vulnerable households.

He expressed appreciation to JMG for helping to bring relief and hope to vulnerable women and families through the partnership.

One of the beneficiaries, Morenike Adigun, said the food supplies would help her family cope with the financial pressure of providing daily meals.

The partnership underscores efforts by private sector organisations and humanitarian groups to complement community-level interventions in addressing food insecurity and improving the welfare of vulnerable households.
