Rite Foods Limited has entered Nigeria’s competitive malt beverage market with the introduction of LIDA Malt Classic, expanding its beverage portfolio as the company seeks to respond to evolving consumer preferences.
The non-alcoholic malt drink was unveiled to the media during an immersion programme at the company’s manufacturing facility in Ososa, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Packaged in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles, the product debuts under the brand proposition, “LIDA Malt. Made for You,” with the company positioning it as an option for everyday consumption.
Speaking during the programme, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said the introduction reflected the company’s commitment to product development and the delivery of quality offerings to the Nigerian market.
He explained that LIDA Malt was designed to complement different occasions, including meals, social gatherings and moments of relaxation.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa, said the launch demonstrated the company’s commitment to innovation and its determination to meet changing consumer expectations.
He added that the company would continue to explore opportunities to strengthen its portfolio with products that combine quality, consumer relevance and distinctive brand propositions.
The Head of Marketing at Rite Foods Limited, Toyin Nnodi, said the new product was developed with consumers’ preferences and everyday experiences in mind.
“LIDA Malt was developed with the consumer in mind. We understand that people want quality products that fit their preferences and everyday routines. With LIDA Malt Classic, we are introducing an offering built around that understanding,” Nnodi said.
She added that the “Made for You” proposition reflected the company’s commitment to placing consumers at the centre of its product development efforts.
LIDA Malt Classic joins the company’s existing beverage portfolio, which includes Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Premium Drinking Water; Sosa Fruit Drink, with five variants; and Fearless Energy Drink.
Rite Foods also manufactures Rite Spicy Beef, Bigi Beef and Bigi Flex sausages, using automated manufacturing infrastructure and technology.
During the factory tour, Eze highlighted the company’s energy management strategy, disclosing that approximately 95 per cent of its energy consumption came from natural gas and solar power, while diesel accounted for the remaining five per cent.
He said the company continued to pursue cleaner and more efficient energy solutions to improve productivity, promote sustainability and support business continuity.
“Our approach recognises the realities of industrial operations in Nigeria while deliberately pursuing cleaner, more efficient and more resilient energy solutions that support sustainability, productivity and business continuity,” Eze said.
The introduction of LIDA Malt Classic marks another addition to Rite Foods’ locally manufactured beverage offerings as it seeks to strengthen its position in Nigeria’s food and beverage market.
