JMG Solar System to Save La Chaumiere ₦102m Annually on Diesel

By Adebola Muili

La Chaumiere Group is expected to save more than ₦102 million annually on diesel costs following the commissioning of a 133.12kWp hybrid solar power system installed by JMG Limited.

The project, according to JMG, is also projected to cut the hospitality group’s diesel consumption by about 57,000 litres yearly, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 76 tonnes.

JMG made this known in a statement on Tuesday, saying the newly commissioned system was designed to provide more reliable and cost-efficient electricity for La Chaumiere Group’s operations.

The hybrid installation combines 133.12kWp of solar photovoltaic generation with 160kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 163.84kWh of high-voltage lithium battery storage.

JMG said the system is expected to generate about 210.86MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying a significant portion of the group’s daily energy needs and reducing its reliance on diesel-powered generators.

The company said the project was engineered following load analysis using Fluke Load Analyzer and PVsyst simulation software to determine the energy requirements and optimise the system’s performance.

The installation features LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage, which JMG said would support intelligent energy management, backup power and improved operational efficiency.

Speaking on the project, Head of Solar Division at JMG, Hussein Abbas, said the partnership demonstrated the potential of hybrid energy systems to reduce operating costs while improving power reliability.

He said, “Hospitality businesses rely on uninterrupted power to deliver exceptional customer experiences every day.”

Abbas added that the project showed how intelligent hybrid energy systems could provide the reliability and sustainability required by modern businesses while significantly reducing operating costs.

JMG said the project further demonstrated its capacity to design and deliver turnkey hybrid energy solutions for businesses where reliable electricity, operational efficiency and long-term cost savings are critical.

La Chaumiere Group operates a range of hospitality businesses, including fine dining restaurants, Lebanese and Syrian cuisine outlets, specialty coffee destinations and handcrafted popsicle brands.
