Fidelity Bank Plc has promoted 433 employees under its 2026 Promotion and Notch Award Exercise, representing about 13 per cent of its workforce.
The latest exercise represents an increase in the proportion of employees promoted compared with the 12 per cent and 11 per cent recorded in 2025 and 2024 respectively, when 376 and 337 employees were promoted.
The bank said the exercise was part of its efforts to recognise excellence, reward outstanding performance and strengthen a performance-driven culture across the organisation.
According to a statement by the bank, the annual promotion exercise under the leadership of its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nneka Onyeali Ikpe, is designed to recognise employees’ contributions, strengthen institutional capacity and build a sustainable leadership pipeline.
The statement said Fidelity Bank had also continued to invest in staff welfare through initiatives aimed at improving productivity, workplace satisfaction and employee wellbeing.
It noted that salaries across all categories and grade levels were increased in 2022, 2024 and 2025, while staff buses were deployed to ease commuting challenges and medical support enhanced.
The bank also said it had expanded its learning and development programmes and extended its mortgage loan and home ownership scheme to employees from Assistant Banking Executive to Deputy Manager cadres.
It added that applicable mortgage limits had been increased for qualified employees in line with current market realities, making Fidelity Bank one of the institutions providing mortgage support to employees below the Manager cadre.
The statement said the bank had sustained other initiatives aimed at promoting employee engagement, collaboration, work-life balance, professional certification and continuous upskilling.
It said the measures were intended to build a motivated and future-ready workforce while preparing employees to take on greater responsibilities within the organisation.
The bank said the 2026 promotion exercise formed part of its broader people strategy to attract, develop, reward and retain talent by recognising discipline, professionalism, innovation, customer focus and sustained performance.
Fidelity Bank, a commercial deposit money bank, serves more than 10 million customers through its digital banking channels and 255 business offices in Nigeria, as well as its United Kingdom subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited.
