Rite Foods Limited has broken into Nigeria’s top 20 most recognised brands, rising five places from 22nd position in 2025 to 17th in the 2026 Top 50 Brands Nigeria Ranking.
The achievement marks a significant improvement in the company’s standing among leading brands in the country and represents its best position since it debuted on the ranking in 2021.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to journalists by the company, which attributed its rising profile to sustained investment in product quality, innovation, technological advancement and efforts to maintain strong relationships with consumers.
A review of the company’s performance on the ranking shows a consistent upward movement over the past six years. Rite Foods occupied the 50th position in 2021 before moving to 44th in 2022.
In 2023, the company recorded a remarkable 14-place leap to 30th position, emerging as the highest-gaining brand in that year’s ranking. It subsequently advanced to 27th position in 2024 and 22nd in 2025 before securing the 17th position in the latest assessment.
The progression represents an overall improvement of 33 places since its first appearance on the ranking, while its brand strength measurement increased to 58 per cent, representing a five per cent year-on-year growth.
The 2026 ranking also highlighted the growing competitiveness of indigenous businesses in Nigeria’s consumer market, with locally owned brands accounting for 27 of the 50 brands recognised, compared with 23 multinational brands.
Rite Foods further secured fourth position in the Brand Nigeria Mentality category, behind Dangote, MTN and OPay, placing it among the leading brands associated with the country’s identity and consumer perception.
The company said its performance reflected its commitment to developing products that respond to changing consumer preferences and lifestyles, while maintaining quality and investing in the capacity to compete in an increasingly competitive market.
Its growing product portfolio includes LIDA Malt Classic, its recently introduced malt beverage; Bigi Carbonated Soft Drinks, available in 13 variants; Bigi Table Water; Fearless Energy Drink; Sosa Fruit Drink; Rite Spicy; and Bigi and Bigi Flex Sausage Rolls.
According to the company, the range of products is designed to serve different consumer groups and everyday consumption needs, while strengthening its presence in Nigeria’s food and beverage industry.
The manufacturer also noted that its growth had been achieved amid significant operating and economic challenges confronting local businesses, particularly those in the manufacturing sector.
It said investments in production facilities, technology, distribution infrastructure and local expertise had supported its expansion and contributed to economic activities through its network of employees, suppliers, distributors and retailers.
Speaking on the achievement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Rite Foods Limited, Mr Seleem Adegunwa, attributed the company’s steady rise to its commitment to quality, technological advancement and the development of a product portfolio capable of competing favourably in the global market.
He said the recognition reflected the collective commitment of the company’s employees as well as the confidence and loyalty of its consumers and business partners.
Adegunwa also acknowledged the resilience of Nigerians, noting that the spirit had continued to inspire the organisation to improve its standards and pursue higher levels of achievement.
He reaffirmed that the company’s vision remained anchored on quality, innovation and community impact, adding that these principles would continue to guide its ambition to build a resilient Nigerian enterprise with global competitiveness.
The 2026 Top 50 Brands Nigeria Ranking was unveiled at the Brand Nigeria Leadership Forum in Lagos. The assessment considers indicators such as consumer recall, sentiment, engagement and other measures of brand strength to determine the visibility, relevance and standing of brands among Nigerians.
For Rite Foods, the latest position represents another milestone in its effort to strengthen its presence in the Nigerian market and expand the reach of its locally manufactured consumer products.
The company said it would continue to invest in its brands, improve its offerings and pursue opportunities to compete beyond Nigeria’s borders while contributing to the country’s industrial and economic development.
