Lagos takes Eko Digital Training to Badagry, Ikorodu youths

The Lagos State Government has taken its Eko Digital Training programme to youths in Badagry and Ikorodu divisions as part of efforts to improve digital literacy, entrepreneurship and employability among young residents.

The five-day programme, organised by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, is holding from September 7 to 11, 2026, at the Badagry Division Iba ICT Centre, Iba Town, Iba LCDA, and Homat School of Basic Studies CBT Centre, Igbogbo, Ikorodu Division.

The ministry, in a statement, said the initiative was part of the administration’s efforts to promote educational excellence, digital literacy and entrepreneurial development among youths in Lagos State.

Speaking when he received the training facilitators, group coordinators, management of the ministry and some participants at his Ikeja office, the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Tolani Sule, said the state government was committed to providing young people with quality and practical education.

Sule said the training had been designed to equip participants with relevant skills needed to remain competitive in the changing global economy.

According to him, the curriculum covers introductory courses in artificial intelligence, digital skills and information technology, as well as emotional intelligence for career and personal development.

He urged the participants to take advantage of the opportunity and apply the knowledge acquired to improve their career and entrepreneurial prospects.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Adeniran Kasali, said investment in digital education was critical to building a globally competitive economy and reducing youth unemployment.

Kasali urged participants at the two centres to maximise the training opportunity and use the skills acquired to enhance their capacity for self-sustenance and professional development.

He also encouraged eligible youths in Badagry and Ikorodu divisions to take advantage of the free programme and acquire digital and entrepreneurial skills that could improve their economic prospects.
