CP Ojajuni seeks stronger Police-Hunters collaboration to boost Ogun security

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has called for sustained collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Ogun State Hunters Association to strengthen grassroots intelligence gathering and enhance security across the state.

Ojajuni made the call on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, while receiving the leadership of the Ogun State Hunters Association on a courtesy visit at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, where he commended the association for its contributions to security operations, particularly Operation Kosaye.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday, noting that the delegation was led by the State President of the association, Chief Muftau Alabi Oseni, and included the State Chairman, Chief Tajudeen Adele, Trustee Chief Bakare Ajayi Fatai, and other members.

Speaking during the visit, Chief Adele expressed appreciation to the Commissioner of Police and his management team for the warm reception accorded the delegation. He also commended the Command for the security achievements recorded since Ojajuni assumed office, especially the implementation and success of Operation Kosaye.

The hunters’ leader further praised the Command for involving members of the association in operational activities, assuring the police of the group’s unwavering support in protecting lives and property across Ogun State.

“We remain committed to supporting the police in every way possible to ensure the safety of lives and property in Ogun State,” Adele said.

Before responding to the delegation, the Commissioner of Police led those present in observing a minute’s silence in honour of a member of the Hunters Association who lost his life during a recent joint security operation.

Ojajuni thereafter thanked the leadership and members of the association for their continued commitment to supporting security efforts in the state, describing their contributions, particularly during Operation Kosaye, as vital to Ogun State’s security architecture.

He urged the association to sustain its collaboration with the Command, especially in grassroots intelligence gathering and timely information sharing, stressing that such cooperation remains critical to tackling crime and criminality.

“Your contributions, particularly during Operation Kosaye, have been invaluable. We look forward to sustained collaboration, especially in grassroots intelligence gathering and timely information sharing,” the Commissioner said.

Ojajuni also reaffirmed his open-door policy, assuring the leadership of the Hunters Association of his continued accessibility and support in advancing collective efforts to keep Ogun State safe.
