LASTMA launches toll-free 3367 hotline for emergency response, traffic monitoring

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has unveiled a toll-free short-code hotline, 3367, to improve emergency response, traffic management and public participation in road transportation administration across the state.

The agency said the hotline, which replaces its former long-service code platform, is available to subscribers on MTN, Glo and Etisalat (T2) networks at no cost, enabling residents to report traffic emergencies and other road incidents promptly.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA said the platform would enable road users to report vehicular breakdowns, road crashes, disabled articulated vehicles, stranded tankers, traffic obstructions and other incidents requiring urgent intervention.

The agency added that members of the public could also use the hotline to report the conduct and operational activities of LASTMA officials, a measure aimed at promoting transparency, accountability and improved service delivery.

According to the statement, callers can communicate with operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English to ensure effective and inclusive communication.

The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the initiative as a major step towards building a more responsive and technology-driven traffic management system.

“The inauguration of the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline represents another monumental stride towards institutionalising a safer, more efficient and highly responsive transportation ecosystem across Lagos State. It provides residents with a direct, convenient and cost-free channel through which incidents requiring immediate intervention can be promptly reported,” Bakare-Oki said.»

He assured residents that all reports received through the platform would be treated professionally and forwarded to the appropriate operational units for immediate action, urging the public to embrace the hotline as a tool for improving road safety and traffic management across the state.
