The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has decorated 430 newly promoted junior police officers, describing the exercise as a reflection of the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to personnel welfare and career development.

The promotion exercise, which took place across the command’s headquarters and formations in the state, involved the elevation of six Sergeants to the rank of Inspector, four Corporals to Sergeant, and 420 Constables to Corporal.

CP Ojajuni, while addressing the officers during the decoration ceremony, said the promotions were part of ongoing efforts by the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force to motivate personnel and enhance operational efficiency.

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the commissioner noted that timely promotion remains one of the most effective ways of boosting morale and encouraging officers to remain dedicated to their constitutional responsibilities.

He commended the welfare-oriented leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, saying the promotion exercise demonstrated IGP Disu’s commitment to rewarding diligence, professionalism and hard work among officers and men of the Force.

Ojajuni congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to regard their new ranks as a call to greater responsibility, discipline and professionalism.

He charged the officers to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force by carrying out their duties with integrity, respecting human rights and adhering strictly to the rule of law.

The police commissioner further assured that the Ogun State Command would continue to prioritise the welfare of personnel and support initiatives aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, improving operational effectiveness and promoting excellence in service delivery.

The promotion exercise, the command said, underscores the Nigeria Police Force’s resolve to recognise and reward dedication to duty while encouraging higher standards of professionalism among its personnel.
