The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced that applicants undergoing recruitment into four agencies under the Ministry of Interior will not be required to pay for the mandatory Drug Integrity Test (DIT), warning against demands for payment by officials or designated testing centres.
The agency said the Ministry of Interior had already made bulk payment to cover the testing of new intakes into the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The NDLEA disclosed this in a statement issued by its Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, on Friday, October 30, 2026, explaining that arrangements had been concluded for the conduct of the mandatory test as part of the recruitment exercise.
It consequently advised all candidates and personnel participating in the exercise not to make any payment to NDLEA officials, testing centres or through any other payment channel.
According to the agency, the payment arrangement was designed to ensure that candidates complete the testing process without additional financial obligations, as the Ministry of Interior had already settled the cost of the exercise.
To facilitate a smooth and orderly process, the NDLEA directed candidates to access its Drug Integrity Test portal through designated links or access points to be provided on the respective institutional portals of the recruiting agencies.
It explained that the arrangement would allow applicants to access the NDLEA testing platform, complete the necessary registration and documentation, and proceed with the exercise without making additional payments.
The agency urged the participating institutions and their personnel to ensure compliance with the arrangement, stressing that candidates should not be subjected to any payment demands in connection with the drug testing exercise.
The NDLEA also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Interior for its cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring a transparent and efficient implementation of the exercise.
