The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BOCA Energy Resources Limited, Mr. James Ukachukwu, has confirmed his participation as Chairman of the 2026 Press Week of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel, scheduled for June 27.
The company disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday, saying Ukachukwu accepted an invitation extended to him by the planning committee of the annual event.
Head of Media and Publicity at BOCA Energy Resources Ltd, Mr. Alfred Abiodun, said the company’s chairman had formally communicated his acceptance to the organisers.
“The Chairman has officially responded to the letter from the events organisers, in which he affirmed his intention to attend in person. He looks forward to engaging with the foremost correspondents in Lagos and supporting the Chapel’s dedication to journalistic excellence and professional development,” Abiodun said.
According to the statement, the NUJ Lagos Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week is an annual event that brings together political, business, economic and investigative journalists from media organisations across the state.
The programme is expected to feature lectures, symposia, awards and networking sessions aimed at promoting professional development and ethical journalism.
BOCA Energy said Ukachukwu’s participation reflects his support for the role of the media in promoting transparency, accountability and good governance.
The company added that discussions during the event are expected to focus on issues relating to energy, economic development and the role of the media in society.
BOCA Energy Resources Limited operates in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, with interests in exploration, production and downstream services.
