The Police Service Commission (PSC) has pledged to deepen corporate governance and leadership excellence in the public sector following a partnership move with the Chartered Institute of Directors Nigeria.

The development was disclosed in a press statement signed by the Commission’s Head, Protocol and Public Affairs (Spokesman), Torty Njoku Kalu, and made available to journalists on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

According to the statement, the PSC Chairman, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, received a delegation from the Institute led by its Second Vice President, Lamis S. Dikko, during a courtesy visit to the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting, held at the Solomon Arase Conference Hall, centred on strengthening institutional ties, promoting transparency and accountability, and exploring areas of collaboration in governance advocacy and capacity development.

Argungu noted that the Institute’s objectives align with the Commission’s commitment to moving beyond traditional civil service practices towards corporate governance.

He assured that the Commission would pursue a robust partnership with the CIoD, particularly in the training of its executive and non-executive directors for improved performance.

“We look forward to a continuous and better working relationship,” he said.
