Entertainment and Music Industry have lost another icon in Ikare Akoko the headquarters of Akoko North East local Government of Ondo state.
He was over 90 years old Sakara exponent. Alhaji Amuda Obanla popularly known and called Alhaji Amuda Okoja.
He was the first Akoko musician to wax records in the mid 60s under the then Decca and later with late Bolarinwa Abioro with likes of sunny Ade, Barrister, Idowu Animashahun.
His type of sakara music was like that of Yusuf Olatunji, S.Aka, Ojindo and Kasumu Adio.
In those days he won many awards at musical competitions.
Late Amuda waxed 12 records to his credit among which Baba Eleshin titled shot him to the limelight.
Amuda baba Eleshin recently granted interview to Radio Nigeria positive fm Akure on popular programe Agbawumi anchored by segun Akanmu where he described Radio Nigeria Ibadan’s efforts on him those days as catalyst to his musical success story.
Sympathizers particularly the lovers of his music had been flooding his residence while his last year Album, Awodi Oku record tracks are being played around old Motorpark.
He has been buried this afternoon at his residence in Okoja street Ikare Akoko according to Muslim rites.
