Three students of Baze University, Abuja, have emerged winners of the BIGI Music Competition, sharing ₦1 million in cash prizes after showcasing their musical talents at the institution.

Emmanuel Best Man Daniel, popularly known as G-Win, emerged overall winner of the competition, taking home ₦500,000, while Festus Nenamote, known as Nene, finished as first runner-up with ₦350,000. Debekeme Emmanuel Favour, performing under the name Fuchi_Plus, secured the third position with ₦150,000.

The competition, held on November 4 as part of the 2026 Soundcity OnTour programme, provided a platform for students to demonstrate their musical abilities, compete for prizes and gain recognition for their creative talents.

The development was contained in a statement made available to journalists by BIGI, which explained that the competition was organised as part of efforts to create opportunities for young Nigerians to express themselves and showcase their abilities through music.

The event also featured a performance by popular Nigerian rapper, Odumodu Blvck, whose appearance added excitement to the campus entertainment programme and provided an opportunity for aspiring musicians to experience a performance by an established artiste.

The three winners emerged from a competition designed to celebrate musical creativity within the university community, bringing together students with different academic interests but a shared passion for music.

Beyond the financial rewards, the competition highlighted the presence of emerging musical talents within tertiary institutions and provided the winners with an opportunity to take their creative ambitions beyond the university environment.

The Baze University event was part of the expanded 2026 edition of Soundcity OnTour, an initiative supported by BIGI and Fearless Energy Drink to bring live music, performances and interactive entertainment to campuses across Nigeria.

According to the statement, this year’s edition covered 20 tertiary institutions, doubling the 10-campus reach recorded during the tour’s 2023 outing.

At the centre of the initiative is the BIGI Music Competition, which allows students to participate actively in the entertainment programme by showcasing their musical abilities and competing for recognition and prizes.

The brands said the initiative reflects their commitment to creating engaging experiences for young Nigerians while providing platforms for talent discovery, creative expression and interaction through music.

The 2026 Soundcity OnTour concluded its campus activities with a grand finale at the University of Abuja from November 5 to 7, following its engagements at various tertiary institutions, including Baze University.

For G-Win, Nene and Fuchi_Plus, their emergence as winners represents an important milestone in their musical journeys, with the competition offering them an opportunity to gain recognition and financial support as they pursue their creative ambitions.
