Four passengers sustained multiple fractures on Monday when a Toyota Highlander and a Mazda commercial bus collided at Otedola, inward Berger, near Jubilee Gate, Lagos, during the morning rush hour.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday by Adebayo Taofiq, Director of its Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department.
The injured passengers were rescued by LASTMA operatives and officials of the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), who conveyed them to the Lagos State Accident and Emergency Centre at the Toll Gate for immediate medical attention.

The crash occurred along a busy transportation corridor, prompting emergency responders to mobilise to the scene, evacuate the injured passengers and manage traffic to prevent further accidents.
LASTMA operatives subsequently apprehended the two drivers involved in the collision and handed them over to the police for investigation and possible prosecution. The two vehicles were also transferred to the appropriate security authorities for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Security personnel from the Isheri Police Division provided security support during the rescue and recovery operations, ensuring the safety of emergency responders and other personnel at the scene.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr Olalekan Bakare-Oki, commended the agency’s operatives, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), LASAMBUS personnel and the Isheri Police Division for their prompt response and cooperation.
Bakare-Oki said effective emergency response depended on swift mobilisation, operational preparedness and coordination among relevant agencies, particularly on busy roads where delays could worsen the consequences of road crashes.
He urged motorists to obey traffic regulations, maintain safe speeds and remain attentive while driving, warning that preventable road crashes continued to threaten lives and public safety.
The LASTMA general manager reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to strengthening emergency response operations, intensifying traffic surveillance and enforcing road safety regulations to protect lives and ensure the orderly movement of vehicles across Lagos State.
