Rite Foods Limited has invested over ₦581.92 million in education, healthcare, youth empowerment and other community development projects while reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by more than five per cent as part of its sustainability drive.

The leading food and beverage manufacturer also recorded a 23 per cent improvement in carbon intensity, a 15 per cent increase in water-use efficiency, a 27 per cent improvement in solid waste management and expanded its adoption of cleaner energy, with natural gas now accounting for over 93 per cent of its energy mix.

The company’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Mr. Ekuma Eze, disclosed this while presenting Rite Foods’ 2025 Sustainability Report at the company’s corporate headquarters in Lagos on Friday, July 24, 2026, saying the achievements were driven by sustained investments in cleaner production processes, resource efficiency and operational excellence.

Eze said the company had also sustained about 3,000 direct jobs and supported more than 12,000 indirect jobs across its value chain, underscoring its commitment to creating economic opportunities alongside environmental responsibility.

He said the company’s investment of over ₦581.92 million covered education, healthcare, environmental initiatives and youth empowerment programmes aimed at improving the quality of life in its host communities.

“Sustainability has become a defining pillar of Rite Foods’ growth strategy and a key driver of long-term value creation. Every milestone we have achieved reflects our resolve to operate responsibly, reduce our environmental footprint, create shared value for our stakeholders and contribute meaningfully to national development,” Eze said.

He added that the company would continue to focus on innovation, transparency and continuous improvement while ensuring its growth translates into lasting benefits for consumers, employees and host communities.

According to him, the company has voluntarily aligned its sustainability reporting with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards and incorporated elements of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards to strengthen transparency, accountability and responsible corporate governance.

He reaffirmed Rite Foods’ commitment to sustainable innovation and responsible manufacturing, noting that the company’s environmental, social and governance initiatives remain central to its long-term growth strategy.
