President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election after participating in the exercise at his Ikoyi ward in Lagos State.
The President, who cast his vote alongside the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, commended APC governors and party leaders for what he described as the orderly handling of the process across the country.
Speaking with journalists shortly after voting, Tinubu said he was pleased with the way the exercise was conducted nationwide.
“I am satisfied with governors’ handling of the process,” the President stated.
He noted that the primary election reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy and grassroots participation, adding that the exercise had proceeded peacefully and according to plan.
Tinubu also applauded party officials and members for maintaining order during the exercise, saying the smooth conduct of the primary demonstrated the APC’s readiness for the 2027 general election.
The presidential primary election was held simultaneously across states of the federation as the ruling party commenced the process of selecting its standard bearer ahead of the next general election.
Tinubu is seeking re-nomination as the APC presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
