The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Saturday conducted its presidential primary election peacefully across Lagos State, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu receiving overwhelming support from party members.
The exercise witnessed impressive turnout of party faithful across wards in the state, as party leaders described the process as orderly, transparent and hitch-free.
President Tinubu voted at his Ikoyi ward in Lagos, where he commended party officials and governors for the smooth conduct of the exercise nationwide.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who also participated in the primary election at his Ward E3, Eiyekole, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, said the President had continued to demonstrate bold leadership through reforms aimed at strengthening the electoral system, stabilising the polity and improving the economy.
In a statement shared on his verified social media handles after voting, Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence in Tinubu’s vision for a more stable, secure and prosperous Nigeria.
Also speaking after casting his vote in Epe alongside his wife, Oluremi, Lagos State Deputy Governor and APC governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, praised the President for taking courageous steps to strengthen the economy and secure the nation’s future.

Hamzat said although nation-building requires patience and sacrifice, Tinubu’s leadership continued to inspire hope among Nigerians.
“I remain optimistic about the future of our country and encouraged by the spirit of Nigerians who continue to believe in progress, unity and better opportunities for all,” he stated.

The deputy governor also described the presidential primary election as peaceful and transparent, noting that party members participated freely without disruption.
Political observers say the successful conduct of the exercise reflects growing unity and mobilisation within the Lagos APC ahead of the 2027 general election.
