LASERC Ends One-Year Power Crisis in Lekki Estate

Residents of Goshen Beach Estate in Lekki Phase I, Lagos, have praised the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) for resolving a prolonged electricity crisis that affected the community for about one year.

The residents, under the aegis of the Goshen Beach Estate Residents Association, conveyed their appreciation in a letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of LASERC, Mrs. Temitope George, following the successful connection of the estate to the direct Jazz 38 Feeder line.

According to the residents, the intervention by the commission brought an end to months of unstable electricity supply and restored reliable power to the estate.

The association commended LASERC for what it described as a swift and effective response to the lingering challenge, noting that previous efforts to address the situation had yielded little success.

“We write on behalf of the residents of Goshen Beach Estate to sincerely appreciate your personal intervention in resolving our intractable power problems, which lasted about a year. We have now been connected to the direct line from the Jazz 38 Feeder,” the letter stated.

The residents also acknowledged the role played by Mrs. George in ensuring that the Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) addressed the issue.

They explained that despite repeated appeals and financial contributions by members of the community towards finding a lasting solution, the power problem persisted until LASERC intervened directly with EKEDC.

According to the association, the completion of the feeder connection project has significantly improved electricity stability within the estate and brought relief to residents.

The residents further expressed gratitude to the commission for its responsiveness and commitment to resolving the matter.

The development underscores LASERC’s ongoing efforts to improve access to stable and reliable electricity supply across Lagos State.
