The Lagos State Government is set to host the third edition of its flagship investment forum, Invest in Lagos 3.0, with a target of attracting about ₦4 trillion in combined local and foreign direct investment into the state’s economy.

The summit is scheduled to hold from Monday, June 8 to Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, in partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, bringing together investors and business leaders from across the 56 Commonwealth nations.

Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Lagos, the Co-Chair of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Folashade BADA Ambrose-Medebem, said the summit is designed to deepen investment inflows and strengthen Lagos’ position as a global investment hub.

She said the outcomes of the 2026 edition would build on previous successes, adding that the platform would deliver “greater depth, stronger global engagement, and clearer implementation pathways” for investors.

The forum, themed “Lagos: The Business Gateway to Africa, Where Innovation Meets Capital,” will showcase opportunities across infrastructure, industrialisation, digital economy, agriculture, energy transition, logistics, financial services, real estate, and SME development.

“Lagos sits at the centre of the African economic story. With a population of over 23 million people, one of the continent’s largest city economies, expanding infrastructure, a vibrant innovation ecosystem, and a busy seaport, the state remains uniquely positioned as a preferred destination for investment, trade, manufacturing and enterprise development,” she said.

Also speaking, the Co-Chair of the LOC and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Sam Egube, said over 29 global speakers have confirmed participation for the summit.

According to him, the event will shift investment discussions into measurable outcomes, with key focus areas including technology, infrastructure, healthcare, transportation, energy, environment, and the creative economy.

“This summit will move conversations into measurable outcomes. It will spotlight key sectors that will drive sustainable growth and development,” he said.

The summit is expected to attract about 500 to 600 high-level delegates, including sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, multilateral agencies, structured finance experts, and global trade networks.

Among dignitaries expected are the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole; Chair of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council, Lord Marland; and Commonwealth Secretary-General, Shirley Botchwey.

Others include executives from Microsoft, First Bank of Nigeria, Sterling Bank, the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority, and the Lagos Free Zone, among others.

The summit is expected to serve as a platform to convert investment conversations into actionable commitments, strengthen Lagos’ fiscal sustainability, and advance the state’s long-term development agenda under the T.H.E.M.E.S+ policy framework and the Lagos State Development Plan 2052.
