The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency has announced that it will host the 11th edition of its Noiseless Lagos Summit as part of ongoing efforts to address rising noise pollution in the state.

The agency said the summit will hold on May 12, 2026, at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Ikeja, from 9:00 a.m.

In a statement, LASEPA said the event, themed “Advancing Sound Control and Technology in an Emerging Smart City,” will bring together stakeholders from government, environmental management, urban planning and technology sectors to deliberate on sustainable solutions to noise pollution.

According to the agency, Lagos continues to grapple with increasing noise levels driven by traffic, construction activities, nightlife and industrial operations.

It warned that prolonged exposure to excessive noise could result in hearing loss, stress and sleep disruption, describing the situation as a growing public health concern.

LASEPA further stated that discussions at the summit would focus on leveraging modern technology and strengthening policy frameworks to improve noise control and enforcement.

“The summit forms part of our broader campaign to strengthen enforcement of environmental regulations and encourage compliance,” the agency said.

The agency added that free hearing tests would be conducted for participants as part of efforts to raise awareness about the health implications of noise pollution.

LASEPA urged residents, businesses and other stakeholders to register in advance to participate in the summit.

It expressed optimism that outcomes from the event would help shape future policies and enforcement strategies aimed at reducing noise pollution across the state.
