The Ogun State Police Command on Sunday received a temporary facility for the Ikenne Area Command and commenced groundwork for a permanent structure, in a renewed push to strengthen security operations in the area.

The event also included an inspection of the Ikenne Security Coordinating Centre, as part of efforts to enhance intelligence gathering and response coordination.

Representing the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, described the development as a reflection of strong community support for policing.

“This initiative underscores the importance of collaboration between security agencies, stakeholders and development partners in ensuring sustainable peace and public safety,” Ojajuni said.

He further commended the Ikenne Security Coordinating Centre for deploying digital solutions to support coordinated security management, noting that technology-driven policing improves intelligence sharing and rapid response.

The Command also lauded the Ikenne Development Association, led by its President, Olufemi Allen, for mobilising resources towards improving security infrastructure in the area.

The police reiterated their commitment to proactive policing and strengthened partnerships to safeguard lives and property across the state.
