The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has fixed April 28 to 30, 2026 for the written examination of candidates seeking enlistment into the police.
The examination will be conducted nationwide across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with Lagos candidates to sit at the Police College Ikeja.
The PSC said only applicants who passed the physical and credentials screening would be eligible for the exercise, directing qualified candidates to print their examination invitation slips from the recruitment portal starting April 24.
It listed items required for the examination to include a pen, National Identification Number (NIN) slip with a clear photograph, and printed examination slip, adding that candidates must appear in white shorts, white T-shirt and white canvas.
Warning against fraud, the Commission stressed that “the recruitment process is entirely free,” cautioning that job racketeering and any form of financial inducement “will be met with the full force of the law.”
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, urged candidates to comply strictly with the guidelines, arrive early at the venue and maintain order.
The statement was issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, on Saturday.
