The Ogun State Police Command, in partnership with The Life Projects and other organisations, on Friday conducted a free medical outreach for officers, their families and civilians in Abeokuta to commemorate the 2026 World Malaria Day.

The outreach, held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ibara, featured malaria testing, treatment and general healthcare services for beneficiaries.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the initiative, themed “Driven to end malaria; Now we can. Now we must,” was aimed at providing basic healthcare and raising awareness on malaria prevention.

She said beneficiaries received free medical consultations, malaria parasite tests, Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets and anti-malarial drugs.

Babaseyi added that health experts also sensitised participants on environmental hygiene and preventive measures to curb the spread of malaria within barracks and surrounding communities.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the initiative reflects the Force’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel.

“A healthy workforce is fundamental to maintaining public safety and effective policing,” Ojajuni said.

He commended The Life Projects and its partners for their support, noting that their intervention would boost the wellbeing of officers and their families.
