
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Francis Bissong, who died of the novel coronavirus was in Akure, the Ondo State capital for some days during Easter break.
The DCP, until his death was attached to the Zone 5 Headquarters in Benin, Edo State capital.
Bissong, an indigene of Cross River State, spent the Easter holiday with his family in Oda Road, Akure.
The 57-year-old police officer, who died on Tuesday before he could get to an isolation centre, is the first police officer in Nigeria to have died of the deadly virus.
Speaking on his death, the Edo state Commissioner for Health, Patrick Okundia, disclosed that the story is not very clear on how he got the infection.

Ogun State one of the hotbeds of Coronavirus disease in the country.
When contacted for comment if there are plans by the Ondo State government on contact tracing, the Commissioner for Health in Ondo State, Dr Wahab Adegbenro confirm that the test report of his family is out, and all negative, but more tests would still be carried out
