Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, a governorship aspirant under Peoples Democratic Party in the coming Ondo State gubernatorial election has called on government at all levels to instill innovations and entrepreneurship in the youths. .
He posited that innovation and entrepreneurship are known agents of change and social transformation in any society
Akingboye made this call while addressing youths and followers on his social media platform in his bid to continually reach out to the people in this period of confinement.
He said; “Government should promote innovation and entrepreneurship training that will make our youths self sufficient and financially independent.
“Needless I opine that in this century, youths tentatively are the pilots of the society. Hence, programmes and policies of the government should be one that will develop, uplift and make them politically involved and financially independents”
He however called on youths to make themselves change agents, and to ensure that their actions and behaviors conform with the highest standards of public morality and accountability.
He urged youths from within and outside the state to be responsible, abhor corruption and discourage profligate lifestyle, wastage and primitive accumulation of wealth.
Stressing his intention to run for Governor of Ondo State in the next election, Akingboye vowed to make Ondo state a destination of choice for the youths through innovative ideas.
Information Technology, as I’ve hinted shall be one of the key factors of our economic development in Ondo State, as we shall transform most of our youths from cyber fraudsters to innovators and incubators of ideas.”
He said, “Our target is that Ondo state becomes one of the top Exporters of Information and Communication Technology.”
“They shall form the backbone for E-governance, E-business and E-learning policies and programmes of our government,” he added.
