The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, Bode Ojajuni, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting Chinese nationals and securing investments across the state.

Ojajuni gave the assurance on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Chinese Consulate at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

The delegation was led by the Deputy Consular General of the Chinese Consulate, Wang Yue, as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and security cooperation with the Ogun State Police Command.

Speaking during the visit, the police commissioner described Nigeria and China as long-standing partners with over 55 years of diplomatic relations and growing cooperation in trade, investment and development.

He noted that his previous experience as Commissioner of Police, INTERPOL Annex, Lagos, enhanced international law enforcement collaboration and strengthened efforts against transnational crimes.

Ojajuni assured the delegation that the Command would continue to provide adequate security for Chinese nationals and their business interests in Ogun State.

“The Command remains resolute in strengthening security around critical infrastructure, industrial corridors and investment hubs across the state,” he said.

He added that the police would sustain intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention strategies and improved police visibility to boost investor confidence and safeguard economic activities.

In support of the Command’s operations, the Chinese Consulate donated communication equipment, including walkie-talkies, to improve emergency response and operational coordination.

Wang Yue also presented a congratulatory letter to the police commissioner on behalf of the Consulate, commending his appointment and expressing confidence in his leadership and professionalism.

The envoy praised the Ogun State Police Command for maintaining peace and security, particularly in areas hosting Chinese businesses and investments, while reaffirming the Consulate’s readiness to sustain collaboration with the Command.

The visit further highlighted the growing diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and China, as well as the importance of security cooperation in promoting peaceful coexistence and economic growth.
