Police Chief Strengthens Security Ties with Agencies in Ogun

The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, visited key security formations in the state, reaffirming the need for stronger inter-agency collaboration to address evolving security challenges.

The visits took him to the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the visits were aimed at enhancing operational synergy, intelligence sharing and coordinated responses among security agencies.

At the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala Barracks, Abeokuta, where he was received by the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Godwin U. Nwamba, Ojajuni stressed the need to sustain military–police collaboration.

He said discussions focused on “reviewing existing joint operational frameworks to improve rapid response, intelligence-driven deployments and coordinated patrols across identified flashpoints.”

At the DSS Ogun State Command, the police commissioner emphasised intelligence-led policing, noting that proactive intelligence gathering and timely sharing of information are critical to preventing security breaches.

“The engagement focused on strengthening surveillance and ensuring timely dissemination of actionable intelligence,” the statement said.

During his visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ojajuni highlighted the importance of border security, calling for closer cooperation to curb illegal migration, human trafficking and cross-border crimes.

He noted that “effective border management remains vital to preventing the infiltration of criminal elements.”

At the NSCDC Ogun Command, discussions centred on the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure, with emphasis on joint operations against vandalism and sabotage.

Ojajuni also stressed the need for improved coordination in handling emergencies and other situations requiring multi-agency intervention.

He commended the leadership of the agencies for their cooperation, stating that “synergy among security agencies remains a critical pillar for effective policing.”

The commissioner added that the command would continue to strengthen collaboration and intelligence sharing to ensure the safety of lives and property across Ogun State.
