
The Federal Government has deployed two fire fighting trucks to the Oyo State Command of the Federal Fire Service to complement the effort of the State Fire Service in combating fire outbreaks.
The Deputy Governor of the State, Alhaji Rauf Olaniyan who received the trucks on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the gesture and explained that efforts were on to build a formidable fire fighting service in the State for optimum performance.
He called for collaboration amongst the government, Corporate Organizations and individuals in combating fire outbreaks and other disasters.

The Assistant Controller General in charge of procurement, Dr Callistus Agu, who represented the Controller General of Federal Fire Service, Dr Liman Ibrahim appealed to the State Government to assist in the provision of utility vehicles and include the Federal Fire Service in the State security council.
He also called on the state government to strengthen its State fire service through recruitment of capable hands, rehabilitation of fixed and mobile assets and improve their welfare package by placing them on a paramilitary salary structure.
Dr Liman reiterated the Federal Government commitment to ensuring the protection of lives and property of the people.
