FEC approves N130bn for road construction

The Federal Executive Council has approved the the sum of about 130 billion for the construction of 7 roads across the country.

Th Minister of Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola stated this, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting.

The Minister said the roads would generate employment for about 3000 people.

The projects, according to him, are the dualisation of Akure to Ado Ekiti road, connecting Ondo and Ekiti states, and the construction of Ukana-Akpautong-Ikot Ntuen road in Akwa Ibom State.

Others are the construction of Iluke-Aiyetoro Kiri-Abugi-Eggan road in Kogi State, and the rehabilitation of Odo-Ona Elewe Idiayunre-Marou road between Ogun and Oyo States.

The rest are the construction of Tamawa-Gulu road in Kano State, the rehabilitation of Potiskum-Fika-Bajoga-Gombe road, linking Yobe and Gombe States, and the construction of Kachako-Danbazzau road in Kano State.

Mr. Fashola said Council approved the award of the roads for implementation under the 2020 Appropriation.
