Residents of Erusu and Imo Arigidi in Akoko North West Local Government area of Ondo had renewed their calls on Governor Rotimi Akeredolu administration to complete the less than 2 kilometres of road between the two communities abandoned 6 years ago by mimiko administration.
The road from Ikare to Ikaram to Ajowa is now the major route to the northern parts of the country.
Big lorries particularly Dangote trucks carrying cement from Obajana factory in kogi state are plying the road daily, making the unfinished portion of the road so deplorable.
Commenting on the very bad two kilometres an Erusu Akoko community leader Mr Alaba Ajongbade narrated the arrowing experience of vehicle owners on the bad portion of the road which had negatively affected socio-economic activities of the area and all that rely on the road to transport goods and services.
In a chat with positive Fm community correspondent Ibrahim kilani a paramount monarch in the area the Akala of Ikaram Akoko oba Andrew Momodu noted government is doing alot on development particularly now that covvid 19 pandemic ravaging every part of the country had negatively affected socio-economic activities and hereby reduced the revenue of the state government.
However, he pleaded with Ondo state government to please complete the abandoned Mimiko road project to boost economic growth of the area.
Also speaking in the same vein The regent of Akunu, in Akoko North East local government area, Princess Tolani Orogun gave kudos to Governor Akeredolu on rural roads like Ikaram Akunu road, Okeagbe Afin Eshe Ogbagi roads when completed will make farmers to evacuate their harvested products to urban centres.
She also revealed that good and motorable rural roads will reduce rural urban drift particularly among the youths.
