Religious leaders in Akoko area of Ondo state have described the lifting of ban on Fridays and Sundays congregations worships as sign that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is a man of God.
They hailed the governor action, saying it’s good that he listened to the yearnings and requests of the citizens particularly in area of religion.
Commenting on the development, the Chief Imam of Ikare land Sheikh Abbas Mohamed Abubakar and Sheik Basiru Aminu Chairman Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Akoko Northwest Local Government area of Ondo state urged muslim faithful not to abuse the opportunity offered them by the Governor.
They also pledged that the will make it mandatory to all mosques to have running water and sanitizer while face masks must be used.They all commended the governor for his tireless efforts since the advent of corona virus pandemic ravaging the country.
Also reacting was Prophet Dr Alex omojowo of celestial church of Christ Calvary parish Olokun Agbaluku Arigidi and pastor Babatunde Oke of CAC cannanland Alapata Ikare who assured the governor that all protocols guiding the spread of corona virus pandemic will be their churches in addition to their fervent prayers.
It will be recalled that churches and mosques had been under lock and key for over two months in Ondo state while Easter celebration and Eid fitri were observed at individual houses.
