The Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, Ondo State Council has donated some beverages to the health workers working in the Infection Disease Hospital (IDH) as part of palliative to encourage their services during the deadly Covid -19 pandemic.

Comrade Alade Fakinlede, Union Chairman who presented the gift to the Dr Ismail Iyanda Busari, Chief Medical Director of Infection Disease Hospital, Akure on Tuesday said that the beverages would help to improve and encourage them concentrate on their work.

Fakinlede, who said that the union had earlier donated some hand sanitisers, liquid soaps and face masks to different government hospital in the state said the presentation of Milks, minerals and biscuits would go along way for the health workers working in the hospital.

“The gesture is to encourage our workers here because it is not possible for all the health workers to be working in the IDH.

“And those people that volunteers to be in that place, we need to encourage them because of the situation of the place presently that covid -19 is pandemic.

“And there is need to give them all these incentive so that their immunity can be improve,” he said.

Fakinlede, therefore called on individuals and government to remember health workers who had been at the forefront since the out break of covid-19 in the country by show them kind and encouragement.

“Our health workers are the one in the forefront of the battle and there is need even individuals and government to encourage them so that they can continue fighting the pandemic,” he said.

NAN reports that no fewer than 10 create of soft drinks (minerals), two canton of milks and 5 canton of biscuits was donated to the hospital.

Dr Ismail Iyanda Busari the Chief Medical Director of Infection Disease Hospital,Akure who received the gift from the union appreciated the gesture and promise to discharge their services to humanity according to their ability.

“We appreciate your gesture and we will not relent in discharging our services especially at this period of coronavirus pandemic,” Busari said.
