The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has inaugurated a new Caretaker Committee to manage the affairs of the party until the full completion of its congress.
This was contained in a Press Release signed by the party’s director of media and publicity, Zadok Akintoye, made available to newsmen on Monday.
The Inauguration was to be in line with the instruction of the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja, that a new Caretaker Committee should be constituted.
The new caretaker committee which is expected to run the affairs of the party in an interim capacity for an initial period of three months is chaired by Engr. Clement Faboyede while other members of the committee were not listed in the release.
The release reads in parts;
Press Release:
We inform all members of the party that based on the instruction of the National Secretariat, an interim Caretaker Committee has been inaugurated to manage the party until the full completion of State Congresses.
Our party appreciates the sacrificial efforts of all our leaders in midwifing a smooth transition of power from the State Exco to the Caretaker Committee under the Chairmanship of Engr. Clement Faboyede, which is expected to run the affairs of the party in an interim capacity for an initial period of three months, pending the completion of our state congress.
The Covid19 global pandemic which has ravaged many nations and has compelled the lockdown of our own state, has been the chief reason why our state congress has not held. Once the ban on public gathering is lifted and conditions permit, the Caretaker Committee shall proceed to complete the already begun process of our state congresses.
We use this opportunity to appeal to all members of our party and the general public to do all we can to maintain peace during this very trying period. Our prayer is that GOD ALMIGHTY will protect us as we navigate through this pandemic.
Thank you and God bless Ondo state.
