It was a gory and horrible scene at Iworoko Town in Ado- Ekiti on Saturday evening where a truck loaded with customized rice of an Ondo APC Senator, seeking reelection, Senator Tayo Alasoadura rammed into the market located at the centre of the town.

Over 20 people were feared dead and their bodies have been taken to mortuary while many who were injured are receiving treatment at a hospital.

Eyewitnesses accounts revealed that the truck with full load of customized bags of rice with the picture, name and logo of the Senator, crushed two vehicles before it rammed into some shops due to alleged brake failure.

Senator Tayo Alasoadura is presently a member of the red chamber representing the people Ondo Central Senatorial District of Ondo State, who is seeking reelection come this year general elections.

Sympathisers, Officers of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, fire fighters and the Police immediately engaged in the rescue operations which lasted till midnight.

Officials of FRSC and the Policemen were at the scene rescuing victims and preventing angry youths from setting ablaze the truck.
