
The PDP senatorial Candidate for Ondo North Senatorial District, Dr. Olusegun Phillips Alonge was on Thursday received by massive residents of wards 4 5 and 6, Oka in Akoko Southwest local government area, assuring him of their votes in next month’s 2019 general election.
The PDP candidate popularly known as ‘OPA Isegun’ who has been engaging in House-to-House form of campaign to solicit votes for himself, his party’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other PDP candidates for the 2019 elections, was also welcomed at Arigidi Akoko in Akoko North West local government massively by the party supporters.
Addressing the supporters, ‘OPA Isegun’ affirmed that if given chance to represent the people, he would ensure that the Senatorial District gets its fair share of developmental projects from the federal government.
The Senatorial Candidate who was given a warmth reception at the incumbent Senator Ajayi Boroffice ward urged the electorate to protect their permanent voters’ card (PVCs) from money bag-politicians who were relying in vote buying after failing to impact positively on the people in the past four years.
Some of the Community leaders and PDP bigwigs who spoke during the grassroots campaigns, described Dr. Olusegun Phillips Alonge as a vibrant, kindhearted and technocrat who is capable of bringing quality representation to the Senatorial Districts at the National Assembly.
Others who spoke at the home of the incumbent Senator Ajayi Borroffice lamented non presence of legislative representations vis a viz mass oriented projects even at the Senator’s home town.
They said that the people are subjected to abject poverty, lack of youths integration, zero youths empowerment, no skill acquisition as a support to a better life.
‘OPA Isegun’ however assured that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will make Nigeria works again if voted into power in this year election. He said PDP government will cater for youths, elders and women, assuring employment, empowerments and senatorial projects that will be benefited to all if voted into office by February this year.
Dr. Olusegun Phillips who also expressed deep concern over continuous suffering of Nigerians as a result of economic policy of the present APC administration lamented the security challenges facing the country, adding that the problem of kidnapping and deplorable conditions of basic amenities in Akokoland will be tackled head-on.
He however promised to use his mandate to empower and improve situations of artisans, farmers, party leaders, communities and students. calling on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure people’s votes count during the forthcoming 2019 general election.
