Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has described as ‘crocodile’s Tears’ the claims by the south west Publicity Secretary of PDP, Mr Ayo Fadaka that he does not show concern and care to address spate of kidnapping and killings in the state.

Akeredolu who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye said for the purpose of clarity and to unclog the eyes of the doubters, including Mr. Fadaka and his party, the PDP, he, Governor Akeredolu, is as worried and concerned as any other good leader should be.

Ayo Fadaka’s Crocodile’s Tears

Ordinarily, we would not have dignified Mr. Ayo Fadaka’s statement, which at best, is a ranting of desperate man, representing an equally desperate political party seeking attention with a response.

But, looking at the bunch of lies listed, it would amount to a great disservice to the innocent and good people of our dear state to keep silent.

Well, it should not surprise those with discerning minds that the statement, which is mostly disjointed and incoherent, is aimed at only one thing – to remake a political party that failed the people of Ondo State, failed the civil servants and destroyed the fibre of family unity that binds us together as a people with its divisive politics.

While the recent spate of kidnappings in the state is no doubt worrisome, but for Mr. Ayo Fadaka and the PDP to claim that ‘no sign of care or worry from the state governor as it (sic) continues to behave as if all is well’ is not only a WICKED blackmail, but also a bad lie told by a man who is poor in many things, including telling lies.

However, for the purpose of clarity and to unclog the eyes of the doubters, including Mr. Fadaka and his party, the PDP, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, is as worried and concerned as any other good leader should be.

As a matter fact, since the ugly trend started, the governor has held several meetings with all relevant stakeholders, including the heads of all the security agencies in the state, traditional rulers, leaders of the Miyetti Allah and the Hausa community in the state.

It is also noteworthy to explain here that security meetings have been a regular monthly ritual between Arakunrin Akeredolu, the security agencies and the monarchs since he assumed office as governor. And consistently, the governor has maintained that the peace of the state is a major ingredient of his administration’s determination to make the state investors friendly.

It was also well-reported by both the conventional and social media that Governor Akeredolu and his cabinet visited the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, soon after the news of the kidnap of a staff of the institution broke, to empathise with the management, staff and students of the institution.

The good people of the Sunshine State will recall that sometime ago, Governor Akeredolu also donated some Hilux trucks to the state police command to assist it in its onerous duty of providing the much-needed security for the people of the state.

In the southern senatorial district of the state, the governor had presented ten speed boats to the military in that part of the state to help in their job of policing our waterway .

The governor has consistently maintained his very stance on making the state unsafe for criminal elements, and not even this wicked blackmail or a lame attempt to change the narrative will discourage the hardworking and peace-loving governor from continuing war against the criminal elements.
