…Saying PDP, ADC, AA, SDP will work, vote for APC

News coming from the Akoko North Federal Constituency chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ondo State had suggested that the party might lose out in the coming 2019 elections.

A source within the party in a chat with KAKAKI NEWSPOT had said members are not going to vote along party lines. Instead, he said members of the party would vote personalities who might even be from another party in the coming 2019 elections.

He hinted that so many things has happened behind the scene. Saying on a daily basis, “we continue to have what I call, ‘evolution of new political theatre within Nigeria’, cutting across all the parties – the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), our own Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), etc.”

He continued that this has actually given parties members the opportunity to become more politically inclined. That people are getting more enthusiastic about Nigeria’s politics as to who can represent them regardless of their party.

The source who didn’t want his name in print affirmed that preponderate of those who are going to vote for APC will come from PDP, ADC, AA and SDP, adding that many of the party candidates in the area emerged because there were no serious contender.

He explained that people are sick and tired of partisan politics, that they have come to realise that there is no more ideology in party politics. “Party is just a nomenclature and gone are the days when people joined party because of its ideology”, he noted.

“We know ourselves here, we know who can represent us at any level, forget party affiliations. Nobody can just come from anywhere and think that because we’re in the same party, we must work or vote for him, no, they will eventually runaway with our mandates

“Today, what we see is promiscuity in party, therefore, the people of this Constituency are looking at personalities, individuals; people that can be responsible and responsive to the needs of the electorate; people who will go over there and still remember those that took them there.”

He however submitted that the Constituency and its local governments needed a good representatives, adding that, one must look beyond the shore of a political party to get such robust representations.

He said “we need somebody that can speak on our behalf; somebody that understands our yearnings; somebody that can take our messages to the Houses; somebody that can compel the House to look into the commercial community; somebody that will impact on lives within the community, and somebody that understands that the constituents should be taken care of.”
