The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. David Oleyeloogun has on Thursday, denied ever being impeached but that some disgruntled elements in the house wanted to cause problem when there was non.
Oleyeloogun who was addressing journalists during the passage of amended 2018 appropriation bill at the Assembly complex, said the perpetrators did not form the required numbers needed to do so. Which he said those involved have been suspended.
During the address at the plenary, the speaker, who denounced ever been impeached and said, it is necessary and mandatory for the Honourable Members to quickly pass the appropriation bill so as to allow the Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, pay workers salary and arrears.
The committee further recommended that the state government should ensure that the provisions of the re-ordered funds are conscientiously applied to the needs stated therein so that the good intention behind the dispensation would be fully attained.
The lawmakers after debating on the report of the amended version of the 2018 appropriation law unanimously passed it.
He later applauded the governor for this unwavering commitment to the better welfare of the state workforce, saying that what the Assembly was doing is in accordance with the dictates of the law.
The House also set up a committee to work out modalities for the financial autonomy of the Assembly headed by the deputy speaker, Mr Iroju Ogundeji.
