Akeredolu, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Mr Saka Ogunleye, promised that more would be done to ensure the total welfare of corp members.

“The service year is that preparatory stage where you will be groomed and to assume the role of promoting sustainable development, self-reliance to enable you take up the challenges of leadership.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Grace Akpabio, disclosed that more than 2,000 corp members had been registered for the scheme.

Akpabio, however, encouraged the prospective corp members to contribute their quota to the unity and advancement of the state.

“I you to see your mobilisation as a privilege bestowed on you by providence because so many who started this academic journey with you are not privileged to be called upon.’’

Justice Olorundahunsi Adeyanju administered the oath of allegiance to the corps members.
