Sanwo-Olu Storms Osun, Drums Support For Oyebamiji

Lagos State Governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday stormed Osun State to drum up support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of Saturday’s election.

Sanwo-Olu, who is the Chairman of the Finance and Resource Mobilisation Sub-Committee of the APC National Campaign Council, arrived in Osogbo, the state capital, where he joined other governors, party leaders and supporters at the party’s mega rally.

The rally, held at Freedom Park, Osogbo, was led by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, with the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda; Chairman of the APC National Campaign Council and Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma; other APC governors, members of the National Assembly and party chieftains also in attendance, according to a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.

Speaking after joining the rally, Sanwo-Olu, in a statement posted on his official X account on Thursday, said Oyebamiji had acquired the experience and commitment required to govern the state.

According to him, “Our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, has served the people of Osun over the years and understands the responsibility that comes with public office.”

Sanwo-Olu said Oyebamiji’s experience, commitment and record of public service had prepared him for the task ahead, expressing confidence in his ability to serve the people of the state.

“As Chairman of the South-West Governors Forum, I am glad to stand with our party. We are confident in AMBO and believe he is ready to serve the people of Osun with purpose and dedication,” he said.

The Lagos governor also urged the electorate to come out en masse on Saturday and vote for the APC candidate.
