2027: Renewed Hope Ambassadors Mobilise Lagos Muslim Voters for Tinubu, Hamzat, APC

The Muslim Affairs Directorate of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Lagos State has commenced a voter mobilisation campaign aimed at encouraging Muslims across the state to register, obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The campaign began shortly after the inauguration of the directorate on Sunday, July 26, 2026, with the Director of Muslim Affairs, Alhaji AbdulWaheed Tella, leading a delegation on a working visit to the national headquarters of the Jamaat Ahli Llahi (JAMAHLIY) in Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking during the visit, Tella said the initiative was designed to sensitise the Muslim community on the importance of active participation in the electoral process through voter registration, PVC collection and transfer where necessary.

He described the Muslim population as a significant voting bloc in Lagos and urged members of the community to use their numerical strength to influence the outcome of the 2027 elections.

According to him, “Lagos State boasts an estimated population of 25 million people, with the Muslim community constituting approximately 15 million. If this vast population ensures they obtain their PVCs and turn out en masse to vote for the APC come 2027, victory is guaranteed for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat and all APC candidates across the board.”

Tella also defended the policies of President Tinubu’s administration, saying the government inherited longstanding economic and structural challenges but had begun laying the foundation for national recovery.

“The country had sunk for decades, but today President Tinubu is reviving it step by step. We are already witnessing positive impacts under the Asiwaju-led government and across APC-governed states. A continuation of this mandate will unlock even greater benefits for Lagosians and Nigerians at large under President Tinubu and Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat,” he said.

He further urged residents who had relocated within Lagos State to transfer their voter registration to polling units closest to their new places of residence to enable them participate effectively in the elections.

“If you previously lived in Mushin and have now relocated to Ipaja, endeavour to transfer your polling unit to your current residence either online or at the nearest INEC local government office. On election day, do not sit at home. Go out with your families and cast your ballots for APC across all levels—Presidential, Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly,” Tella added.

Responding on behalf of the Jamaat Ahli Llahi society, Prof. Mustapha Bello commended the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for engaging faith-based organisations in voter education and mobilisation.

He encouraged members of the society to obtain their PVCs, update their voter records where necessary and participate peacefully in the electoral process, stressing that responsible civic participation remained essential for good governance.

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors said the engagement with JAMAHLIY is the first in a series of grassroots mobilisation activities planned across Islamic institutions, community groups and other voter blocs in the 20 Local Government Areas of Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
