Tinubu’s Achievements Will Deliver Nationwide Victory in 2027 — Okeyomi

By Adebola Isimijola, Lagos

A prominent grassroots mobiliser and political stakeholder, Ambassador Oladipupo Babatunde Okeyomi, popularly known as Carry Go, has expressed confidence that the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda will translate into nationwide electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general election.

Okeyomi, who spoke in an exclusive interview with The Hope, said the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructure development and social intervention programmes had continued to restore public confidence in governance, positioning the ruling party for widespread support across the country.

According to him, the President’s performance has laid a solid foundation for electoral success in all six geopolitical zones.

He said: “The achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under the Renewed Hope Agenda will speak for him in 2027. Nigerians are beginning to see the impact of the reforms, and I am confident these achievements will translate into widespread electoral victories across the country.”

Projecting the APC’s electoral prospects, Okeyomi said the party would maintain a strong presence in the North, estimating a baseline of about 25 per cent of the votes across the region, with up to 50 per cent support in Borno State and other parts of the North-East.

He described the South-West as the traditional stronghold of the progressive movement, expressing optimism that President Tinubu would secure at least 50 per cent of the votes across the region, with support expected to rise to between 60 and 70 per cent in key strategic states.

On the South-East, Okeyomi acknowledged that the region would remain competitive but maintained that the President would still garner between 30 and 35 per cent of the votes.

He also expressed confidence that sustained grassroots mobilisation would enable the APC to secure at least 40 per cent of the votes in the South-South.

Responding to criticisms of the administration’s economic policies, Okeyomi argued that President Tinubu inherited severe economic challenges but had introduced bold reforms that prevented fiscal collapse and repositioned the nation’s economy.

“The President inherited significant economic challenges, but the reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and the unification of the foreign exchange market, have strengthened public finances and created greater opportunities for development,” he said.

He added that Nigeria’s external reserves had risen to nearly 50 billion dollars, while inflation had declined from its 2024 peak.

According to him, the reforms have also significantly increased monthly allocations to states and local governments through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), thereby providing more resources for infrastructure and socio-economic development across the country.
