The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed as false reports claiming that a curfew or restriction of movement had been imposed across the state, assuring residents that the security situation remains calm and under control.

The Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, said there was no directive restricting movement in any part of the state, urging residents to ignore rumours capable of causing panic.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the police said adequate security personnel and operational assets had been strategically deployed across Ogun to maintain law and order and safeguard lives and property.

“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to categorically debunk rumours and misleading reports alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement in Ogun State,” the statement said.

It added that “the security situation across the state remains peaceful and under control, with adequate deployment of personnel and operational assets strategically emplaced to maintain law and order and protect lives and property.”

The Command advised residents to continue with their lawful activities without fear, stressing that there was no cause for alarm.

Police authorities also urged members of the public to disregard unverified information and report suspicious movements or security concerns through the Command’s emergency lines.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment of the Ogun State Police Command to ensuring public safety and maintaining peace across the state.
