The Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has charged members of his party, All Progressives Congress in the state to allow peace and unity to reign within.

The law maker representing Akoko North East and North West federal consistency said this while speaking with pressmen in Abuja. He stressed that given room for unity in the party will help its power sustainability bids in the next governorship election.

Tunji-Ojo who played host to different groups from his constituency last week in Abuja assured that whatever rift going on within the party will be settled, saying there is enough time before the election date that maintaining peaceful coexistence among party members is paramount.

The lawmaker however commended the interpersonal relationship that had existed between the non indigenes and members of their host communities. He reiterated his commitment to transforming the constituency through delivering on effective representation.

He said, “All the warring faction within the party from Akoko North East/ North West Federal constituency and beyond does not have a choice but to work together. He thanked them for the love and support giving to him during the electioneering process that brought him to the National Assembly.”

The Chairman House Committee on NDDC stressed that representation is a matter of giving back to the people that voted him, for honour given him to represent them. He urged the groups and members of his constituent to tolerate one another and embrace unity and peaceful coexistence saying development can only be found in a peaceful environment.

Among the groups that visited him were the members of the Market Women And Trader Association of Nigeria, members of the Hausa-Fulani and Igbo communities from his constituency, other groups are the 10 members group known as B.T.O girls, some political leaders and loyalist.

Speaking with the pressmen, the President, Market Women and Trader Association of Nigeria, Ondo North chapter, Chief M.B Giwa said their visit was born out of the group’s passion to pay homage to their representative who has been championing the interest of the people robustly, saying what Bunmi Tunji-Ojo has done within 10 months in office is historical and commendable.

In the same vein, the Hausa and Fulani leader from Akoko North West, Alhaji Halidu Mohammed, Seriki Hausa and Alhaji Usman Taofiq, Seriki Fulani applauded the lawmaker for considering the interest of the people of his constituency as a priority.
