The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has seized counterfeit and other illegal products valued at over N2 billion and arrested two suspects during a raid on an alleged counterfeit alcoholic beverage operation at the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex.
The operation, which took place on Tuesday, October 13, followed credible intelligence and led to the discovery of more than 20 illegal stores allegedly involved in the production and distribution of counterfeit alcoholic beverages within the complex.
NAFDAC disclosed this in a press statement issued on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, saying operatives of its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate uncovered the operation concealed in makeshift parking stores on the premises.

According to the agency, its operatives found suspects allegedly blending and counterfeiting popular alcoholic beverage brands, revalidating expired and unsafe drinks for resale, and stockpiling banned imported products.
Two suspects were apprehended during the raid, while the products seized and evacuated were valued at over N2 billion, the agency said.
NAFDAC urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious manufacturing, revalidation or sales activities involving regulated products.
The agency provided its official complaints line, 0800-1-NAFDAC (0800-1-623322), for members of the public to report suspected violations.
The agency reiterated the importance of public cooperation in tackling the circulation of counterfeit and unwholesome products in the country.
